The "Provoctive" posse

This afternoon's panel for "Queerly Provocative" at Cockroach Theater.  The discussion on Queer Art was the first of two panels by hosted by Sin City Gallery and moderated by Laura Henkel.   "Suzanne Shifflett, Richard Hooker, Bryan McCarthy, Todd VonBastiaans, Mark Burns, Tracy Dean Skinner, Jo Russ, Angel Alcalá and Lance Smith will be sharing their insights and opinions concerning the topic," said the release.

Added Sept. 10.  Kristen Peterson covers panel, and the show that inspired it.  Peterson writes: "So, following the opening, [Suzanne] Shifflett and local artists falling under the big Q discussed identity, tribe, codes of the past, truthfulness, inclusiveness, labels and reverence for the gay and lesbian forbearers who fought for so much (including the right to honestly express oneself)."
